Template:Ds/editnotice/doc
This is a documentation subpage for Template:Ds/editnotice. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
This template should not be substituted. |
This template can be used as an editnotice, and calls Template:Editnotice, to inform editors that an administrator has imposed a discretionary sanction on an article.
When deploying the template, you must declare which arbitration decision is in effect by using one of the decision codes.
This template categorises pages into Category:Pages with discretionary sanctions editnotice and Category:Wikipedia arbitration enforcement current sanctions (|nocat=yes
can be used to prevent this) for all uses.
Usage
- Standard usage
{{Ds/editnotice|1=restriction|topic=topic code}}
- Both parameters are mandatory.
- With optional parameters
{{Ds/editnotice|1RR|topic=topic code}}
- Should be used when a standard 1RR rule is imposed.{{Ds/editnotice|1=restriction|topic=topic code|expiry=expiry date}}
- An expiry date (as with Template:Editnotice) can be set, at which time the editnotice will not longer display. Such as for sanctions which have a fixed time.{{Ds/editnotice|1=restriction|topic=topic code|nonds=some other authority for the sanctions}}
-|nonds=
can be used to specify another place the sanctions were authorised, for example in the Arab-Israeli community imposed 1RR restriction it could be used to link to that discussion.{{Ds/editnotice|1=restriction|topic=topic code|nocat=yes}}
- |nocat
can be used for demonstration purposes, so it will not categorise the page or call the tracking templates.
