Template:TCMDb title displays an external link to a web page for a film title at the TCM Movie Database (TCMDb). It is intended for use in the external links section of an article.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) maintains its own comprehensive database of motion picture titles that are not limited to the film libraries that TCM owns, and includes links by which a user can suggest to TCM that they schedule any given title for viewing.

This template is designed for links to film titles; to a link to a person use {{TCMDb name}} instead.

Usage

Unnamed parameters:

Instructions

1. Visit the TCM Movie Database.
2. In the keyword search field, type in the title you want to link to, and click "Search."
3. TCMDb will show a disambiguation page showing all titles that match your search words. Click on the title you want (make sure you have the correct year of release!).
4. The page URL should look like this:

   http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/title.jsp?stid=######

   or http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/######/Film-Name/

   where "######" indicates a number.

5. Copy the ID number that appears after stid= or /title/ in the URL.
6. In the article you are editing, type {{TCMDb title | id= ###### | title= Film Name }}.

This template displays an external link to a web page for a film title at the TCM Movie Database (TCMDb). It is intended for use in the external links section of an article.

Template parameters

ID	id 1	The "id" parameter (or unnamed parameter "1") should contain the ID portion of the URL. Example: 26660 is the ID in http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/title.jsp?stid=26660 or http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/26660/Screaming-Eagles/. This parameter is optional if Wikidata property P2631 exists, but required if not. Default Wikidata property P2631	Number	optional
Title	title 2	The "title" parameter (or unnamed parameter "2") may be used to specify the film title, which is displayed in italic type in the link text. This parameter is optional; it defaults to the Wikipedia article name, without any disambiguation such as "(film)". Default {{PAGENAMEBASE}}	String	optional
Description	description 3	The "description" parameter (or unnamed parameter "3") may be used to specify a description of the title, which is displayed after the title in the link text.	String	optional
