Usage
This template is designed to be used only from {{Speciesbox}} and its subtemplates to extract the 'bare' genus name from a longer string. It behaves like {{Str letter/trim}}, but treats hyphen as a letter (the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants allows hyphens in genus names) and handles the "×" at the start of nothogenus names.
