Purpose
This template is intended to assist users at help forums, such as at Wikipedia's Teahouse, its help desk, the AfC help desk, for replying to {{Help me}}
requests, or at user talk pages, etc., where explaining the fundamentals of using and citing the right types of sources, with the right depth of treatment of the topic in order to demonstrate notability, is needed.
The default and extended output are both intentional sentence fragments, chiefly aimed at insertion in the middle of a tailored sentence, within a larger tailored post that you are composing, probably addressed to a new or inexperienced user, and its initial lowercase start, and lack of an ending period are, thus, also intentional. Tailor the surrounding text to the content and context of the specific use.
Usage
- This template should always be substituted by prefixing "subst:" inside the template code. Thus, use {{subst:
RSIS}}
or {{subst:RSIS|full=yes}}
, rather than{{RSIS}}
or{{RSIS|full=yes}}
.
Example usage
Typed text:
Your draft is unlikely to be accepted at this time because it does not demonstrate the [[WP:N|notability]] of the subject by [[WP:REFB|citing]] sufficient {{RSIS|full=yes}}.
Output:
- Your draft is unlikely to be accepted at this time because it does not demonstrate the notability of the subject by citing sufficient reliable, secondary, independent sources that treat the topic in substantive detail.
