Usage

This template should usually be placed in the References section of an article:

{{Nuttall|title=Nuttall article name}}

Parameters to alter the prescript and icon
  • noicon=1 — turns off the icon
  • noprescript=1 — turns off the prescript
  • inline=1 — replaces "This article" with "One or more of the preceding sentences" (if set then place the template into an inline citation)
Pre-set parameters
  • editor-first=option if not set defaults to James
  • editor-last=option if not set defaults to Wood
  • encyclopedia=option if not set defaults to The Nuttall Encyclopædia
  • location=option if not set defaults to London and New York
  • publisher=option if not set defaults to Frederick Warne
  • ref=option if not set defaults to harv (see template:harv)
Other parameters
  • author=author's full name

or

  • first=author's first name(s)
  • last=author's last name

also

  • authorlink=author's Wikipedia article name (will only display if author= or last= is set)
  • title=Nuttall article name
  • wstitle=Nuttall article name — same as functionality as title= It is included so that this template takes the same parameters as other similar templates.
  • display=Alternative name — the alternative name will be displayed instead of the Nuttall article name (will only display if title= or wstitle= is set)
  • volume=volume number
  • page=page number
  • pages=page number

If the title= or wstitle= is not set then this template adds the following text (in red) article name needed. The template automatically takes the first letter of the Nuttall article name and links to the appropriate page in the Wikisource copy of the Nuttall text. If in the future the pages are further divided up then this template can be altered to find the new location, without the need to alter the title= parameter.

If short=flag is set then some of the default display parameters are not shown:
