Description

The {{mfd-mergeto}} and {{mfd-mergefrom}} templates are intended for use by a sysop who closes an MfD debate with a consensus to merge the nominee into another page (or by a different user acting on such a decision).

Instructions

Upon removing the {{mfd}} notice (if still present), add the {{mfd-mergeto}} tag to the top of the nominated page (not its talk page). Use the following format:

{{mfd-mergeto|destination page|debate name|debate closure date|talk page of destination page}}

For example, assume that a debate was closed on 19 December 2025. If the consensus is to merge the nominated page into a page called Wikipedia:Topic X, and the debate is located at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Topic Y (second nomination), the tag should be configured as follows:

{{mfd-mergeto|Wikipedia:Topic X|Wikipedia:Topic Y (second nomination)|19 December 2025|Wikipedia talk:Topic X}}

This will generate the following notice:

This page was nominated for deletion. [[Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/{{{2}}}|The debate]] was closed on {{{3}}} with a consensus to merge the content into the page [[{{{1}}}]]. If you find that such action has not been taken promptly, please consider assisting in the merger instead of re-nominating the page for deletion. To discuss the merger, please use [[Talk:{{{1}}}|the destination page's talk page]].

Also add the {{mfd-mergefrom}} tag to the top of the destination page's talk page (not the page itself). Use the following format:

{{mfd-mergefrom|nominated page|debate name|debate closure date}}

For example, assume that a debate was closed on 19 December 2025. If the consensus is to merge a page called Topic Y into the page associated with the talk page, and the debate is located at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Topic Y (second nomination), the tag should be configured as follows:
