This template displays a link to a page at the Google Play store (formerly the Android Marketplace).

Usage

Unnamed parameters:

  • {{Google Play | ID }}
  • {{Google Play | ID | TITLE }}
  • {{Google Play | ID | TITLE | DESCRIPTION }}

Named parameters:

  • {{Google Play | id= ID }}
  • {{Google Play | id= ID | title= TITLE }}
  • {{Google Play | id= ID | title= TITLE | description= DESCRIPTION }}

Instructions

1. Go to the app's Google Play Page.
2. Copy only the words after the id parameter in the URL query string. Ignore the parameters after the id parameter as well as the fragment or named anchor.
3. The page URL should look like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=XXX.XXXXXX.XXXXX&feature=nav_result#?t=1234567, where "XXX.XXXXXX.XXXXX" indicates the id parameter.
4. Add to the external links section the text:
{{Google Play|XXX.XXXXXX.XXXXX|Name}}
where "XXX.XXXXXX.XXXXX" is the id you've copied, and "Name" is the name of the Android application.

Examples

  1. Search the Google Play marketplace at play.google.com for "Facebook" and click on the Facebook app. You'll get to this page: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.facebook.katana&feature=nav_result#?t=1234567
  2. Copy "com.facebook.katana" and then add this number as parameter to the Google Play template:
    {{Google Play|com.facebook.katana}}
  3. The result on the page Facebook is:
    Facebook on Google Play.

Typically this is a list item in the external links section (even if there is only one link), so you should add "*" in front.
