Template:Fussballdaten displays an external link to an association football (soccer) player's profile at Fussballdaten.de. It is intended for use in the external links section of an article.

Instructions

1. Go to Fussballdaten.de and search for the person you want, using the search box which is labelled "Suche".
2. Limit the search to pages about people by clicking the "Personen" link located about the search results.
3. Click on the correct link to go to the person's page. Be sure you're getting the right person (check birth date).
4. The page URL should look like https://www.fussballdaten.de/player/id/, where "id" is the portion indicating a specific player. For male players the format is usually "firstname-lastname" or "firstname-lastname-number". For female players the format is "frauen/firstname-lastname".
5. Add one of the following to the external links section of the player's Wikipedia article:

   * {{Fussballdaten|id}}

   * {{Fussballdaten|id|name}}

   where "id" is the player ID portion of the URL

   and "name" is the person's name. If the name is not specified, the template will display the Wikipedia article name, without any disambiguation such as "(footballer)" or "(soccer)".
