Template:Cfdl
Error: you must provide a log date or the discussion's start date.
Usage
{{cfdl|||||}}
{{cfdl|category|log date (optional)|deletion debate link (optional)|debate start date|debate end date|result}}
Discussion link
If the name of the discussion is different from the name of the category (for example, due to a mass nomination), the discussion link parameter can be used to link to the correct discussion. Note that when using this, nothing gets automatically prefixed to the discussion name, unlike when allowing the first parameter to be used as the discussion name. For instance:
{{cfdl|Test|2009 January 1}}
results in a discussion link where the name of the category gets "Category:" prefixed and used as the discussion link:
However, this:
{{cfdl|Test|2009 January 1|Group nom}}
results in a discussion called "Group nom" without anything prefixed:
Dates
The log date and the discussion dates are exclusively optional to each other - if both the log date and the discussion start date are omitted, the template will throw an error:
{{cfdl|Test}}
results in:
- Error: you must provide a log date or the discussion's start date.
If the log date is omitted and the discussion start date is provided, the start date will be used as the log date (however, due to technical restrictions, this is not currently reversible):
{{cfdl|Test|||2009-01-01}}
results in:
- Category:Test at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2009 January 1#Category:Test (1 January 2009)
If the discussion start and end dates are identical, the date will only be displayed once:
{{cfdl|Test|2009 January 1||2009-01-01|2009-01-01}}
results in:
- Category:Test at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2009 January 1#Category:Test (1 January 2009)
