Usage

This template, {{AFB game box start}}, is to be used in conjunction with two other templates: it may optionally first be followed by {{AFB game box scoring entry}} and must be lastly followed by {{AFB game box end}}.

When combined, the three templates will provide a thorough box score for an American football game.

Fields required for a game that ends in regulation time (copy and paste text below and then delete parameters that aren't needed or are unknown)

Parameters legend

  • Title: Name of game, if necessary
  • Visitor: Name of visiting team
  • V1, V2, V3, V4: Visiting team's point total in each successive regulation quarter
  • VOT, VOT2, VOT3, VOT4, VOT5, VOT6, VOT7, VOT8, VOT9: Visiting team's point total in each successive overtime period. Only include fields for OT periods that were played
  • Host: Name of host team
  • H1, H2, H3, H4: Host team's point total in each successive regulation quarter
  • HOT, HOT2, HOT3, HOT4, HOT5, HOT6, HOT7, HOT8, HOT9: Visiting team's point total in each successive overtime period. Only include fields for OT periods that were played
  • Date: Enter date of game in MMMM DD format or MMMM DD, YYYY. Do not wikilink. (Example: For example, enter "September 25" or "September 25, 2009" in this field.)
  • Location: Enter name of stadium, city, and state
  • StartTime: Time of kickoff
  • TimeZone: Enter abbreviation of time zone. (EST, CST, MST, PST, or HAST)
  • ElapsedTime: Total elapsed real time of game
  • Attendance: Number of people in attendance at game
  • Weather: Examples: Sunny, Cloudy, Heavy rain, etc.; temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (°F); wind speed and direction
  • Referee: Name of head referee
  • TVAnnouncers: Names of television announcers, if televised
  • TVStation: Broadcast network, if televised
