The Template:Get Austria location code determines the numeric code for a location (district, city or town) in the nation of Austria, as used with the interwiki Austria-population templates.

- {{Get Austria location code| Vienna}} → 9
- {{Get Austria location code| Innsbruck}} → 70101
- Usage: {{Get Austria location code| name}}
Those numeric location codes are used to connect place codes to each population count stored in the Austria-population templates:
- Category:Austria subdivision population templates - of 2,475 locations
If the name of a location is not recognized, then the value zero (0) is returned for that name. Because there are only 2,470 town names, the lookup is relatively quick.
