== Usage ==
This template is used for formatting text in the [[Devanagari]] script. It accepts an obligatory parameter for the Devangari text and an optional second parameter for the transliteration:

*{{code|<nowiki>{{lang-Deva|अर्जुन|arjuna}}</nowiki>}} gives:

An optional third parameter specifies the transliteration scheme used (for example, {{code|IAST}} for [[IAST]] or {{code|ISO}} for [[ISO 15919]]). If the {{para|link}} parameter is set to ''no'', the string ''Devanagari'' will not be linked.

== When not to use ==
To format Devanagari text in a specified language, use one of the [[:Category:Lang-x templates|specific templates]], like {{tl|lang-hi}} for Hindi, {{tl|lang-mr}} for Marathi, {{tl|lang-ne}} for Nepali or {{tl|lang-sa}} for Sanskrit.

To prevent the text ''Devanagari: '' from displaying, use {{tl|transl}}: {{code|<nowiki>{{transl|und-Deva|some text}}</nowiki>}} if the language is undetermined. If the language is specified, use {{tl|lang}}.
