This template is used in [[WP:Manual of Style/Glossaries|template-structured glossaries]] with the {{tl|defn}} template to provide an explanatory [[WP:Hatnote|hatnote]] for a {{tl|term}}. It can also be used in manually coded HTML [[description list]]s.<br />
