This template places a small empty star ([[File:Linecons big-star.svg|14px]]) in the top right corner of a portal to indicate that it had been designed as a [[Wikipedia:Featured portal|featured portal on Wikipedia]] before that process ceased operation in 2017.

This template should be placed at the bottom of the portal.
