This template is used to tag pages for speedy deletion under the [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion|speedy deletion criteria]], specifically [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#G11|CSD G11]]. There is a separate template for each criterion – see the table to the right.

This template places the page into the categories: [[:Category:Candidates for speedy deletion|Candidates for speedy deletion]], and [[:Category:Candidates for speedy deletion as spam|Candidates for speedy deletion as spam]].

== Usage ==
The template should be placed at the top of the page to be deleted.

:This is the most basic form of the template.

:Link to previous AfD or other relevant discussion (parameter can also be given as {{para|1}} or {{para|xfd}} or {{para|page}}). This can be used for whatever is the pagename of the most recent [[Wikipedia:Deletion process|XfD]] or similar discussion (including if the page was then under a different name, or in a non-obvious location, such as a 2nd nomination, a merge discussion at some other article's talk page, etc.). This parameter has no default value and does nothing clever. (For speedy deletion on the grounds of recreation of previously deleted material, see [[Template:Db-g4]] which has more features for detecting previous XfDs.)
